Frequently Asked Questions The following are answers to the
most frequently asked questions by Telco customers, and Agents
which we hope will be useful to you.
| Q - How do I know what calls I have made? |
At the end of each month you will receive a fully itemised
bill detailing all calls made using Telco s services. You
can also contact Customer Services mid-month if you want
to know how much you have spent.
| Q - Can mobile phone users benefit from Telco Tariffs? |
Yes, Telco s ConnectXtra service allows you to register
mobile phone numbers on our system and make calls, simply
by dialling a Freephone number followed by the destination
number. (Please note: the access numbers are subject to
change. Contact Customer Services to obtain the latest number.)
a) Mobile to mobile: dial the ConnectXtra 0800 Freephone number.
b) Mobile to landline: dial the ConnectXtra 0800 Freephone number.
c) Landline to mobile: use1696 or the 0800 Freephone number.
| Q - What does it cost to use a mobile phone?
|
Please Note: check price list for latest tariffs.
a) Mobile phone to mobile phone: 18p off-peak; 27p peak;
8.9p weekend.
b) Mobile phone to landline: 2.9p off-peak; 5.3p peak;
2.4p weekend.
c) Landline to mobile phone: 18p off-peak; 27p peak;
8.9p weekend.
You should note that Cellnet and Vodaphone have imposed a tariff
on the use of 0800 Freephone numbers, so users on these networks
won t gain any advantage by using the Telco service at the moment.
| Q - Can Telco's low-cost service be used on the cable networks? |
Yes, by registering your cable number you can access the Telco
service from your cable network. Using our ConnectXtra service,
simply dial the Freephone access number followed by your
destination number.
| Q - Can I make calls from abroad using Telco? |
Yes, ConnectDirect and ConnectXtra can make calls from over
60 countries back to the UK using the Telco Walk n Talk card,
at highly competitive rates compared to BT chargecards. More
countries are being added each month. The cost of the calls is
added to your monthly account.
| Q - Is Telco cheaper than BT's Friends & Family, Country Calling
or Premier Line?
|
Yes. Even though Premier Line gives an extra 15% discount, you
have to pay 24 per year to use it. Country Calling offers
savings of 25% to one other country and costs 12 a year. That's
an awful lot of calls before you start saving money! Friends &
Family also gives you a 10% discount, and BT users get a combined
discount if they have all three. It can be rather confusing but
Telco s tariffs are still lower in most cases. And the beauty
of Telco is that it s much simpler, and you know exactly what
you re paying for the call.
| Q - What are the business and corporate rates?
|
Any partnership or limited company with a call-spend of over
50 (UKP) per month will be eligible for business or corporate
rates. They will also be entitled to a free Telco Easy Call or
Smartbox, enabling them to benefit from the Telco service
without dialling 1696.
| Q - What is Telco Easy Call?
|
Telco Easy Call, a unit about the size of a BT wall socket is
plugged into your current phone line. When you make a call from
a phone plugged into the unit it chooses the cheapest route for
that call. You don t need to dial 1696 and it maximises the
savings available with Telco. This service is free to all
customers spending over 20 per month.
| Q - Can I use Telco for my local calls?
|
YES, Telco Easy Call users can have exactly the same ease of service as with
BT or any other fixed line provider, no four digit prefix to dial,
and all their call details on one bill! And incredible rates!
Here's a comparison with BT - BT standard local rate is 3.95p,
Telco is just 3p. Then our off-peak rate comes in at 1.3p per
minute, compared with a hefty 1.49p from BT. Best of all is
the weekend rate - Telco is offering a staggeringly low rate
of 0.75p per minute over the weekend, beating BT's much-
publicised 1p a minute hands down!
| Q - Is there anywhere in the UK you can't use 1696?
|
Yes, the Isle of Man, Channel Islands, Eire and anywhere where
they still use the old analogue exchanges. In general, it s very
easy to find out: if you can t dial 1471 to obtain the number of
the last caller, this usually means it s still analogue. The great
news is that these exchanges are being upgraded, Remember,
all customers should be able to use both the ConnectXtra and
Walk n Talk services.
| Q - How does the Telco system work?
|
When you dial 1696 your call is recognised by BT and passed
through to the Telco switching centre in London s Docklands. From
there, the cheapest route will be chosen to send your call to
its final destination all by the time you finish dialling.
| Q - What about my BT (or other provider's) bill? |
It's essential you keep paying this, as Telco doesn't replace it
completely. First, they supply the line you rent. If you stop
paying the bill, they could
disconnect you. But you should soon start to see some
impressive reductions in your phone bill on all your call
charges.
Telco Agency Answers
| Q - When I'm a Consultant, who do I approach if I need help?
|
The first point of call is your Sponsor. He or she is responsible
for you and is there to help.
If you have a query on customers, consultants, downlines etc, you can contact
the Agent Service Department. If it s a query regarding getting
on-line or on your telephone account, you will need to contact
Customer Services.
| Q - Do you have to be a customer in order to be a consultant?
|
No. But being a user gives you belief! Your own bill is the most
powerful visual aid you ll have when introducing others to the
service.
| Q - As a consultant, what information can Telco give me about
my group?
|
You can get a list of your personally sponsored customers and
consultants at any point in the month. You can also get a list
of the total number of customers and consultants in your group.
Once a month you will get a print-out of all the people who are
active in your group, along with your commission cheque.
| Q - Can I expand my business outside the UK?
|
Telco has plans to expand in the future but for the time being
only has the facilities to provide its services to customers
within the UK.
| Q - How do I make sense of the Business Plan?
|
The main thing to remember is that you get paid on recruiting
customers that use the service. Your first goal is to reach
co-ordinator by introducing 25 customers within your first 30
days. Once you have signed a customer up, call them back to
ensure they are using the service. When they receive their
first bill and can see the savings they have achieved, you
should contact them to see if they know anyone else that would
like to benefit from cheaper calls. Remember, if they are
satisfied, they will want to allow others to benefit. If someone
has more than 5 people to recommend, inform them that this can
also be a second profit centre for them, Invite them to an
opportunity meeting. Show them the 3 step process you have
undertaken and move onto the next!
| Q - Can I really make good money from promoting Telco?
|
The answer is yes. Once you start the ball rolling, you ll be
receiving percentages of your customers bills and then their
customers bills. It's all about a lot of people doing a little.
If you work consistently at it, there is no reason why you can t
have an income which far exceeds your regular wage. But remember
it s going to take time, effort and persistent application.
| Q - What is the best way to promote the Telco opportunity?
|
The best way to promote the Telco opportunity is by word of mouth.
It s also the cheapest way! Explain the concept to people you
know or meet. Offer them the chance to make huge savings on their
phone calls. When they are persuaded how good a deal it is, ask
them if they would like to earn some money recommending the
service to others.
| Q - What is the inside secret to making this business work?
|
Use the service.
Enjoy the benefits.
Tell others.
Above all enjoy it!
